I’m so excited to share that The Barefaced Podcast has officially launched! 🥳
While the world (and especially the beauty industry) is in no short supply of podcasts, I noticed there were certain topics no one was talking about. Whether it’s an ugly truth, new legislation, or the rise of a new social media platform, beauty marketers and consumers are often left to figure it out on their own as the cultural landscape keeps evolving. That’s where The Barefaced Podcast comes in. This podcast is all about unpacking beauty’s untold stories .
For our first episode, we’re diving right into one of the most ignored topics in the beauty industry: “The Black Beauty Problem.” It’s the same cycle – black women get left out of a product launch, the internet goes wild, and nothing seems to change. But how did we get here? And why is this still happening?
In this episode, we go deep into the root of the problem, why the industry keeps making the same mistakes, and why it’s not just costing black consumers – it’s costing the entire industry. And, of course, we’re not just talking about the problem. We’re looking at real solutions and what needs to change to make progress.
Here’s what’s inside:
Uncover Industry Insights: We break down how racial inclusivity (or lack of it) is impacting everything from product development to marketing.
Time to Break the Cycle: YSL’s recent blush launch is just the latest example of exclusion – this episode is a call for accountability.
Key Takeaways: From the numbers to the solutions, we’re talking about how the beauty industry has failed black consumers and what can be done to fix it.
